NEAR BELVEDERE CASTLE GREAT LAWN. 

DIRECTIONS: 

From East side enter at 79th and Fifth Ave., just south of Metropolitan Museum. Go through underpass behind museum and you'll come to a pond. Picnic site is on the Great Lawn (if you're walking from east to west, it will be on your right. If you're coming from west to east, it will be on your left.) 

From West Side: Enter 81st Street north of Museum of Natural History. Bear right at large tree inside entrance to park. Continue straight. Go through underpass, walk past the Delacorte Theater. Small pond is to your right. Now look to your left for the Great Lawn near the area of Belvedere Castle.
